Affiliate Marketing

You know from my past posts that I have an interest in affiliate marketing.

To be honest I have not yet given this my best shot, both in the time I have spent on constructing sites and in the keyword research.

Don’t get me wrong here, the sites I have published have achieved good listings on Google, but I know that I could have spent more time on the keyword research. It’s no good being listed as number one for some keyword that no one uses is it?

So the last couple of sites I have gone for keywords that are more competitive and therefore, harder to achieve a good listing place.

Never the less, I am getting better sales results from these two sites than I did for the sites that were listed on page one.

It may be that one of the sites is seasonal (Christmas), only time will tell, but I have sold from the other site too, which is encouraging.

I have also put into place, a tracking code (from Amazon) that should tell me exactly where the clicks are coming from.

This will enable me to revisit the poor sites with regard tp keyword optimisation and to see if I can improve the performance.

I will keep you updated on the results after the holiday season has finished.
